Share, import and push contexts to Spaces
Share a context as a .contextli file from its card menu, import one with Import on the Contexts page, or add it to a Space so your whole team can use it.
On this page
To share one context, open its card menu and click Share Context to download a .contextli file or copy its JSON. To bring one in, click Import on the Contexts page. To share contexts with a team and keep them in step, add them to a Space.
Share a context as a file
- Click Contexts in the sidebar.
- On the context’s card, click the three-dot menu and choose Share Context.
- Click Download File to save the .contextli file, or Copy JSON to copy it.
- Send the file or text to the other person (email, Slack and so on).
The file includes the context name, its instructions, icon and colour, its hotkey and the screenshot capture setting.
Import a context
- Click Contexts in the sidebar.
- Click Import.
- Choose From File to pick a .contextli or .json file, or From JSON to paste copied JSON.
- The context appears on your Contexts page, ready to use with its hotkey.
Contexts from the online Context Library (click Browse Library) are imported the same way: click Add to Contextli on the context’s page, then use Import > From JSON in the app.
Share contexts with your team in a Space
- Click Spaces in the sidebar.
- Type a name for the space and click Create.
- Invite people by email and click Send Invite.
- Click Add Context and pick one of your personal contexts.
Everyone in the space now sees it on their Contexts page under Shared with Me. Spaces can also share dictionary items with Add Dictionary Item.
Push your edits to a Space
When you edit a context that is already in a Space, your teammates keep the old version until you push the change.
- On the context’s card menu, click Push to Spaces, or
- On the Spaces page, click Push update next to the context.
The Shared with Me section has a switch for automatic pushing. When it is on, your edits are pushed to every space automatically.
Good to know
- Default Transcription cannot be shared.
- Shared contexts you don’t need can be hidden from Shared with Me and restored later.
